Ventilation is blocked when driving at speed.

Postby JonnyBlaze » Sat Aug 08, 2020 10:11 am

Please help ,
My air con and blower fan work perfectly (after spending over £1000 to fix)
But
When driving at over 50 mph the air vents stop letting air into the cabin.
I can hear the fan working and a tiny trickle of air con but it seems blocked.
Everything works perfectly around town, vents, blower speeds, heater and air con normal.

Have you replaced the cabin filter behind the centre console

I am about to remove it. Not sure how that would prevent air flow only at speed but it’s worth a go.

I think at low speeds there is time for the air to get past the filter but as speeds increase the filter will not let enough air through so it appears blocked....Its a very simple job to replace . you could remove and punch a hole in it just to see if it improves things...you cannot leave it out completely as there is a seal on the filter

I removed it. Cleaned it and it seems to be fine now. I will order a new one. Thanks!
