Battery not charging/ alternator help please

Hello I’ve recently purchased a 2007 megane dci DYNAMIQUE, I keep getting battery light and battery is dead, the battery is brand new. Previous owner said that the alternator had been changed, does anyone know which alternator should be on it as I’m not sure it has the right one as the plug on the thin single wire doesn’t fit. Please help
