Criminal Keycard Scanners

I have had a criminal get into my Renault Megane Dynamique 2011. My keycard was placed in a metal box but inside my house overnight. I discovered the following morning someone had got in and had searched in the glove compartment left the contents on the floor and seats of the my car. Even my dash cam was left. So I am presuming I am a victim of keycard scammers? Is this a common problem with the Megane as my friend had the same happen to them 2 years ago? (I have purchased a defender faraday pouch now)
