Elderly Megane in “Lockdown”

Postby Tinbasher » Tue Feb 04, 2020 1:00 pm

Went on holiday and came back to find battery flat. I recharged but the car seems to be in some kind of lockdown. I cannot change out of PARK, ignition keys not working although the red alarm light is showing on the dash. Alarm is ticking but not sounding horn.

Any ideas?

Sounds as if the battery may have died. Does the engine crank and start? Do the (head)lights work?

No nothing at all. When I charged the battery it immediately went into the alarm mode.
