aftermarket roof aerial ?

Hi, Santa brought me a fancy (cheap Chinese) double din radio to replace the original (tuner list) radio in my megane II. i got it fitted fine but there is virtually no radio reception, in fairness reception wasn't very good with the original either. so im guessing the aerial is causing the issue. my question is....... is there enough space behind the front interior light to accommodate an aftermarket roof aerial, i think that might be easier than trying to find the fault with the original rear mounted roof aerial. anyone done this and found a easy way / route for the coax? Thanks

I fitted this, have the glass roof / sunroof, so was easy. Superb reception, FM & DAB

Hi did you fit it in place of the original or at the front of the roof?

Instead of original, the previous owner done a butcher job anyway when he fitted a double din etc...
Was easy to fit. Reception is very very good, DAB or FM.

Just unscrew the rear aerial, leave the wiring for next person.
Fit the new one (tight fit if remember, tight properly, don't forget sealant)

i feel a bit guilty now.. here i was blaming the poor old megane and its aerial for poor radio reception and all the time it was down to the cheap nasty ebay signal amplifier i thought would improve things. took that out and now the radio is working fine. :rock

Did you have to remove the headliner to get at the nuts etc if so what is the best way to go about it? Thanks
