2005 car wont start if tailgate open

is there any way of disabling the safety system which stops the car from starting if the tailgate is open?? as at present i cant take junk to the tip as unless the boot is closed the engine wont start? any ideas??

I drive the same car it starts with the boot open. Sounds like a Renault electrical fault to me.

Same here, can't even have ignition on if boot open.
