Found missing trim, not sure where it goes.

I was working on my car, I removed all the front such as wipers, scuttle panel and the wiper linkage unit to clean all the debris and leaves out from there to stop it blocking up.
But I've come across this piece of plastic which was sitting under the wiper wiring, not sure what it is or where it belongs. Is it an important piece to protect something? If anyone knows please let me know, thanks in advance!
The plastic itself has clips but I've looked all over the engine bay and haven't really figured it out.
