Just got a shock £915 to do a cam belt water pump
Dephaser solenoid and pulley plus other bits
Not booked it in yet anyone found a cheaper way
Car sat on my drive will not move has been checked it is the solenoid causing the problem

Doing that job myself cost me about £350 for cambelt kit, coolant pump, dephaser pulley from Renault specialist, coolant and correct timing tool set. My dephaser solenoid was working fine so didn't need replacing. £915 seems a ridiculous price!
Oh and if it is the solenoid causing the problem why do you need to change the cambelt and dephaser pulley, coolant pump etc? The dephaser solenoid is located on the top of the engine and is only a 10mm bolt and a wire connector to remove to replace

Yeah you can get just the solenoid from Amazon for about £25 delivered.

Thats a crazy price. The average quote I got for that job was £315 without the de-phaser which is about £100 for the actual part. If its the solenoid buy it yourself and fit it.
