Air con

Postby drewster1978 » Thu Feb 21, 2019 6:25 pm

I bought a diagnostic tool to see what the problem is with the air con and I got a code df1070 cool loop which doesn't want to want to clear.. Also says refridgerent pressure is 0.80 bar to low and power absorbed by the ac compressor 300w.air con authorisation YES.the compressor doesn't kick in when pressing button so will it just need regassing and see what happensi changed air con pressure sensor last week..
So if I get it regassed and see if fault code goes and hopefully the compressor kicks in I do know the compresssor works I ran 12v to it.

Hard to see from top of engine. If you take bumper off you can see it. Or take under tray off and it's on drivers side of the engine

Many thanks for your email containing picture of the compressor. The Renault designers must have had a really bad day to think of putting t it there. Cheers.
Got email with video but can't see it? I've just got this Huawei phone so still exploring what's what on it.
Next question is location of pressure sensor and temperature sensor? Thanks for your help, greatly appreciated.

Got pic of pressure SENSOR, many thanks. Often wondered what the little blob under the wing mirror was!
Thanks again.
When I press ac button light comes on but that's all, can't here ac clutch come in. Spoes I'd better start testing things. The thoughts of going to Halfords or an aircon con man as I call em doesn't bare thinking about, the cheepest quote I've had for a basic "inspection" was £60 ### thanks for your help. Cheers.

Hi did you regass it at the port above the engine. The one with the black cap? What adapter would I need.
Went to Halfords again tother day said he could not test it because he needed to get to the one under the car but they haven't got a lift/ramp.????? So they didn't bother.
It's like being in a circular firing squad at the minute when you go to Halfords!!!!

Yeah remove black cap, search on ebay for renault gig side low port adapter I paid £11,then I got a top up bottle off amazon for £16 and also a pressure gage. I'm lucky I've got a can clip diagnostic so it show how much pressure in the system before I did it it shows 0.60 bar now its about 6.0bar.but the gage you buy will tell you. I went to halfors before I bought a adapter they are useless.
