The passenger front window has gone insane!
Occasionally, I find it completely wound down, and it's started making chugging noises when I start the car up.
On Saturday, it went crazy. Wouldn't close properly, kept opening about an inch every time I closed it. It seems to have got over it now but..
Does this sound like a temic issue?
Is this a temic issue?

Re: Is this a temic issue?
Is it possible to swap with drivers side temic, Also have you disconnected the battery for any reason as you have to reset the windows after doing so
You can get cheap replacements on Ebay but while these work great and easy to install.. but one touch up and down and automatically closing when locking car does not operate..

Depends on how much hassle it is to strip a door..
I have seen replacement "cube" modules, but also cheap replacement temic units. If these check out, I may try one on the rear door window as that's never worked.

Re: Is this a temic issue?
I've got one of those "cube modules" on my drivers window.
The drivers window wasn't working when I got the car so I stripped the door to investigate, I found the cube had been fitted but had came loose so it was just a case of reconnecting it and securing it in place and the window worked.
The door is a bit fiddly to strip but there's a couple of videos on youtube to help.
The one touch function doesn't work with the cube fitted but I'm not bothered by that as sometimes with the one touch you end up with the window going all the way up or down when you only wanted to move it a little bit.
I've seen the replacement Temic units on ebay and it says they retain all the original features like Total Closure & Anti-Pinch, I wonder if they really do?
Cheers.

Re: Is this a temic issue?
I got in touch with the seller of this temic replacement
and asked them a few questions:
1. Does this work on the front AND back doors?
2. Does it work with the car's "double-click" to lock doors and close windows function?
3. This IS in the UK, right, not China?
and got this unhelpful reply: Sorry, this can't meet your requirements.
So I don't know which (or all) requirements it doesn't meet..

Re: Is this a temic issue?
Update: it says deep down in the listing that it works on both front and rear, so either it doesn't work on double-click, OR it's in China..

Second update: I've just watched the video on how to get access to the temic unit - FFS! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2D-iJQqx63M

Re: Is this a temic issue?
The answer from the ebay seller is as clear as mud
Yes, stripping the door is a bit of a carry on, you need to really take your time, someone to hold the panel when it goes back together is helpful.
Cheers.

Re: Is this a temic issue?
Finally, I found a direct replacement temic unit, which does close the window when you double-click the lock button..
Direct Replacement Temic Unit
I contacted the seller to make sure, and he confirmed this.
If you look at his ebay shop, he specialises in Renault window issues, this unit costs a bit more than the other ones (£16), but I think it's worth it!
