Have to keep jump starting megane

Hi everyone I'm a newb. Had my 07 megane dynamic for 4 years with no probs. Now it won't start unless I jump-start it. I put a new battery on and it started straight away then took my dauthter to one of her clubs got back in car won't start but it will jump start. I'm not much of a mechanic has anyone got any suggestions. The car does try and turn over but it did with the old battery.

Just to clarify, when you say jump start do you mean by connecting another battery to the car with jump leads?

I ask as sometimes people say jump start when they mean bump start (pushing a car to start it)
