Megane 2 low battery warning

Postby SavaBogdan » Tue Oct 16, 2018 10:20 am

Hello. I just finished an engine swap on a renault megane 2. All went ok, few problems but figured them out, and then after 30min of driving the low battery message appeared. I stoped the car and indeed the battery was dead. Put a new one and only had 12.5v with engine running. I removed the exciter wire and it went to 14.5v. I have been driving the car for a week with the wire disconnected, all is ok except the low battery message which appears after 10 15 20 min. I measured the pin on the alternator and it has 14.5v. Also the exciter wire and it wobbles around the 9v value. Does anyone have any idea what I should try? I assume the alternator is ok. Thank you

Anyone? Maybe someone can measure the exciter wire that connects to the alternator? So if it has 14v I can start looking at the UCF. I think that's how it is called. The fuse box next to the battery.
