Odb2 reader for air bag light

Hello everyone I've got megane 2006 mk2... I've got a air bag light on and also when I turn steering wheel full lock there is a plastic sound like a ribbon catching that was the reason why the light came on I think... Anyway I've got a odb2 reader(bog standard one I use with the app torque) but doesn't tell me about air bag errors. Can anyone recommend one that will help me diagnose the problem.

Had this on mine ,needed a new squib cost about £100 and a couple of hours work not hard to do , it's the complete unit with wiper and indicator arms ,if like mine when I started car air bag light had gone off but more came on a quick drive around the block all fine
OBD reader won't be able to read it as it needs to be done by a dealership

Sounds like that's the problem.. Bit sure if it's worth doing to be honest priced one up for mine and its £108. Mot is due in January and it will probably need other work so cheaper to buy another car but not a renault... Thanks for your help

not necessary to buy another column switch, just replace the flex ribbon cable...
