Loose ABS sensor

Postby Tjalde » Tue Jul 17, 2018 7:44 pm

When I was driving 80 km/h I hit a bump on the road. Right after the speed could be read to 40 km/h even though the speed was 80 km/h. Few seconds later ESP, ABS and wrench symbol appeared. I can at least identify one problem: one dingeling ABS sensor in the front.
However, I am on vacation without any tools.
Is it possible to fit the loose sensor without tools?
Are there any good advices to refit the sensor?

Hi apparently there are 2types of sensor one you need no tools as they clip into a holder the other pre 2006 i think are bolted into the hub..seeing yours is dangling i think once wheel is removed you should be able to see if it will click back into the holder...good luck

I think you are right. It is registered in 2007 and my guess is that is fittet with no tools. I can read that the holder is normally corroded, though.

Mine is a 2006 and the front is not corroded...I have read the rear seem to corrode more quickly. but I thing the pothole you hit dislodged the sensor failing that you could always try using glue (araldite) or similar to fix sensor...good luck lets know how you get on
