Blower Resistor

Postby JohnYate » Sat May 26, 2018 1:27 pm

Hi,

I've just replaced the resistor pack.

But I'm puzzled by something and I'm reluctant to test it.

It's my understanding that the resistor pack is kept cool by the incoming air blowing over it, which explains why it burns out when the pollen filter is blocked.

If that's true, what stops it overheating when the air conditioning is selected to 'recirculated air''? Because, by definition, there is no incoming air.

Cheers.
