Re: Air conditioning not working
Hi,
if there's no pressure in the system, it won't work.
It could be just a re-gas but beware it could turn out expensive depending on where and how it's leaking.
My son lives in Australia and uses a/c all the time and no troubles it seems.
It's a system that needs using regular and that doesn't happen over here much.
If you go to a decent re-gas place, they should tell you if it's worth doing or a nightmare.
Good luck
Bob.

Re: Air conditioning not working
I think if I can first pinpoint the problem then I can go from there and possibly maybe get a cheap or less costly way having it repaired but thanks again bob for your information I very much appreciated

Re: Air conditioning not working
Ok I confirmed that AC clutch does not engage after the AC is pressed and the temperature turned right down and also fans turned up. Before I take the car to a garage does anyone know if the air pressure switch can be overridden to see if it's got a faulty if yes how please.?

Re: Air conditioning not working
Hi,
you should be able to test the clutch by disconnecting it and connect direct to battery, should hear a click at least.
I think this is on you tube worth watching if you're not sure.
When l test stuff direct like this, l usually use a bulb in line and if it lights up there's a circuit.
Let us know how it goes.

Re: Air conditioning not working
Hi again Bob I will try that have seen some videos on YouTube about the Renault Megane 2 AC not working but not that one you have mentioned. I thought I just checked the fuses and see if there's any blown all seem ok but I have notice a wire disconnected from somewhere it was just at the side of the fuse box under the bonnet. here is a link to my Google Drive of this wire https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KKFK9c ... sp=sharing

Re: Air conditioning not working
Hi,
when you look at stuff on you tube, remember it doesn't have to be specifically megane, they are all basically the same.
As for that wire, don't know what it is and will look on mine tomorrow, but is it the same colour as what's going to the a/c clutch?
l have a Haynes manual but have found it pretty useless for wiring and sometimes very misleading.

Re: Air conditioning not working
Good advice like you say for the year of my car which is 2004 they all seem to have this clutch device now as for the colour of the Wire strangely enough it does seem to match the colour going to the clutch and the pressure switch sensor hopefully it is something to do with either one
