2006 1.5dci cigerette lighter

Hi all. just bought a cracking 1.5dci estate 2006 for work. Great car. I decided to swap the cigarette light for an aftermarket usb charger. wired it up correct and the blue light came on, on the charger. Then disaster . I touched the two wires and the that awful shorting sound and off the light went along with my radio, A/C ad rear heater. I delved into the fuse box inside the glove compartment and found the blown fuse. Changed it and on came the stereo , the A/C light and the rear window heater, but NOT the usb charger. Can anyone suggest a fix?

Just buy a usb adaptor that plugs straight into the cigar lighter. Usually 2 usbs in the adaptor no mesding with the wires

hi. there is no power to the cigarette lighter. checked the fuses as well?
