Hi all. I have a 2004 megane cc 2.0 auto. Is it normal for these to rev at about 3000 rpm at 50 mph. It sometimes comes up with gearbox ecu fault. Could these be connected.
Many Thanks

Re: Auto Gearbox
Hi,
I don't have an auto box but my 1.9 dci isn't at 2k at 70 mph.
I would think it's certainly not in top gear. The ecu message is there to let you know that it needs attention.
Good luck
Bob.

Re: Auto Gearbox
Thanks for the reply. Do you think the ecu might be the reason it's not engaging top gear ?

Re: Auto Gearbox
Hi,
from my limited knowledge of modern day autos the answer is yes.
The gearbox has it's own ecu that switches solenoids to change the gears. Most have gone from the old reliable pressure valves to electronics to make it change gear quicker.
If the fluid and filter are ok, I think you need an auto box proper place to diagnose this.
You need to research for a fair and honest place.
Good luck
Bob.
