If I change the card reader on my car will I have to do anything to the keycards or will they just work with the new reader?

i think the only part coded with the key is the Immobiliser. the reader itself only carries the message. should be fine as a direct swap.

I got one off eBay, going to fit it today. My car is supposed to be hands free but doesn't work, could this fix it?

I fitted it but it's got the same issue. I assume now it's a key which means I'm looking at £100+ to fix it, is there no solution other than a new key?

I just took it apart and resoldered the immobilizer which was very loose so hopefully when I leave work my car will start xD
