Constant Humming/Droning Megane II

Hi everyone! I'm a new member. After hours of research I've come here for your expertise.
I'm the owner of an 08 Megane II Convertible. 40k on the clock and frequently serviced, recently passed it's MOT.
However, the problem I'm having is a constant humming sound (sounds like it's coming from O/S rear) which get's louder and of and higher pitch when speed increases. This sound remains when clutch is held down and when the car is in neutral. The sound goes, at least and little bit, with a turn to the right. I've noticed it 'goes off' with a 45 degree turn to the right, or more.
Wheel bearing seems like it may be the culprit but I can't help but feel that the non-matching rear tyres may be the issue, although tread and wear appears fine. Also, there's nothing odd when throwing a trusty bucket of water at each wheel after a good run.
So, members of wisdom, what are your thoughts? ...and thank you in advance.
