CC Auto problem.

Hi all, got a nasty prob with the auto trans on an "07 2 litre petrol auto. Almost every day, when cold, after about a mile, the trans will suddenly drop from 4 into 2 and put up the notice "check gearbox", stopping & re-starting cures it, but all shifts are getting clunky. My scanner tells me there's an issue with the high pressure gearbox pump. am I looking at a repair or a new box ? Please help, getting desperate. Martin.

hello there..check the oil level at least...if you can get hold of a can clip diagnostic tool its the only tool to check these gearboxes. there is no dipstick to manually check it. rgds Maurice

A youtube video shows the valve body of the dp4 al4 gearbox being repaired and was the result of a "check gearbox" error.
