Static Buildup in the Megane

Does anyone else get a static shock every time they get out of their Megane II?
Ours is really bad, especially in dry weather. Never had a car like this, considering fitting a strap...

Seems to be caused by engine running rather than driving as idling for a while before setting off and get out and ZAP!

Hi there,
Haven't noticed this with my Megane, might be because it's a diesel. ls yours petrol (sparks).
l can remember back in the day, sparks at the tip of the key just unlocking the door.
A lot depends on the clothes you wear.
Don't see those earth straps on cars now like we used to.
Should solve it for you though.
