Reversed out of drive the other night.
"flash". Darkness..
Dipped beam bulb blew
Had a fiddle about with it. Via "port" in wheelarch. Too fiddly.
Halfords. "Replace my bulb". Sorted.
I have NEVER EVER had ANYONE replace a bulb for me before. FFS.
Who the hell signed off on that design "feature" ?
Headlamp Bulb replacement.

Yeah I had this happen to me on Sunday as well but luckily it didn't die when I was on the dark country roads. It really is a shocking design, but really that tends to sum up Renault electrics and mechanical parts.

Re: Headlamp Bulb replacement.
Yep, with Meg 2 it became a part of Renault culture to replace all bulbs annually with Osram while having the bumper removed, the tools polished and praying to the gods of electricity. In Meg 3 the bulbs last almost forever, which reminds me to have them replaced at some point.
The reason I'm writing this - Osram seem to last longer than the others. I once tried Eurolites and ended up doing the same job twice. The other reason - remove the bumper and replace all bulbs at the same time.

Interesting. I have No Idea what brand Halfords installed..
The thing about removing the bumper and changing all the bulbs every year is crazy (but obviously lucrative).

you cynics may be interested to learn that Monsewer Renault did learn from the error of his ways! Meg 3 bulbs are a cinch to replace as the headlamps easily lift out! Voila!
