engine mount
does any one know if it easy to remove/replace the lower engine mount on mk 2 megane 53 plate

It's a Renault. It won't be simple.
Even changing a headlamp bulb means accessing via the wheel arch. FFS.

I think you mean the engine steady bar that runs from the gearbox to the chassis roughly beneath the gear lever. The rubber joints wear and cause the engine to rock (as I expect you have discovered.) Assuming the one on the petrol cars is the same as the dci (and why would it not be?), it is easy to remove but you will need to crawl underneath to gain access. Bolts each end are accessible from below. In my case I inserted a piece of rubber from an exhaust ring into the worn area and that cured the problem. One that is not so easy to cure is the hydro engine top mount. When these fail (the oil leaks out), causing noise and vibration in the car, there is no alternative but to replace and they are expensive - even on ebay.
