hi
i bought a 2005 megane convertible with 60,000 on the clock, i put £30 of fuel in it and i have done 123 miles on that £30 of fuel and its nearly gone, also the power is flat, it will rev out but slowly, it will sit at 70 or 80 mph easy, also the car will not start from cold, it just fires up then dies again about 6 or 7 times till it catches and it idles lumpy, there is no bad smell or dash light on, once warm it starts fine,
i have owned 3 mk1 1.6 and they were nippy and very good on fuel, any help would be great
thanks

Re: blocked cat? advice please
I would replace it, more or less the same with mine. Check also the exhaust manifold for cracks. That´s often the reason for catalyst fail, due to secondary air effects and then overheating...
best regards

I find that slipping some curry into it's bowl sorts the problem out overnight. Be prepared for a nasty cleaning job the following morning, though.
