No power to window, corrosion inside door plug socket (not the usual)

Postby Bigsy » Sun Jul 17, 2016 10:34 am

Thought I had the usual window module trouble but finally tracked it dow to this: https://imgur.com/a/R2KMA

As you can see one of the pins is completely corroded off, anyone know the easiest way of fixing this?

Thanks.

Chloemae12. It's the window control module or temic unit. You can now buy new replacement ones off eBay for around £25 with a two year guarantee and you will need to find someone with the patience to strip down the door panel to replace it or spend a fortune at your local dealers,(not recommended!).

cut one off at the breakers yard leaving enough wire so you can cut yours off and put the new one on
if at first you don't succeed get a bigger hammer

I had the same problem, just one pin corroded. I was able to clean it up sufficiently well enough for it to work using wd40, fine needle files and fine emery tape. Its a bit fiddly but worth a go. Failing that do as tanto12 suggested get one from a breakers yard and solder it in.
