Engine overheating

Postby Postie32 » Sun Apr 24, 2016 7:23 pm

Hi there hope someone can help my engine overheats but the display never goes above the half way mark no leaks or things like that the fan does not start but works with the ac on could it be a faulty sensor or dodgy thermostat as it takes about 7 miles to get fully warm to the half way mark on the display

Best start with what model it is, mileage etc.

Hoe do you know it's overheating? Is it losing water? If petrol does the oil cap have mayo like gunge on the inside (head gasket fail)?

Could get a Bluetooth ODBD connector and appropriate app (Torque Pro) which shows exact eng temp. Of course only helps if sensor is working.
