Card key - reprogramming?

Hi
I've been given a card from a scrapped off Meg and I wondered if it could be re-programmed to work on mine? I have looked at some old threads on the subject which suggest it can't really be done but as they are a few years old, I thought maybe a new trick has come to light which could allow re-programming. Just seems a bit of a shame to chuck something I was given for free.
