Annoying abs light been on for a while , however now the MOT is looming i thought it was time to investigate.
Turns out the rear ABS sensor was loose , problem is that the ABS mount has disintegrated so nothing to plug it into !
When you rest it against the ring and start it up the abs system is ok and light is off , obviously tho it just falls away when you move
and the light goes back on.
Does anyone know where i can obtain a mount , had a poke around the net and cant see any...

So i manufactured a plastic plate and with some superstrong glue
fingers crossed , light went out - lets see how long it lasts

A second hand sensor from ebay, glued in place almost worked . ABS fault would register at 15mph
Turns out they are super sensitive to positioning, i had placed it too close to the centre,
Repositioned it today and after several hours of waiting for the glue to set - it seems to be
behaving correctly. Full functionality of the ABS system has been restored.
Lets hope it thats it sorted.

:?

Nice one! Well done in getting it to work for you. If I saw this post earlier, I would recommend araldite epoxy.

Got abs problem on my Megane 2. The front abs connections to the magnetic ring is rusted away both sides. Abs light is lid none stop. Do Renault sell these ?
or should I just turn abs off by removing fuse?

Hi,
you may be able to turn the light off, but it won't pass an mot test so needs sorting sooner or later.
Good luck
Bob.

Fitted the car with new wishbones and noticed the corroded connections. Can the magnetic rings be bought online?

Looked for hours on the net with no luck surely someone sells these looks like a common problem...

Hi,
the wires should go to the sensor not the magnetic ring.
Are you getting them mixed up. l believe the older toothed rings are now plastic magnetic ones, but just like you, l can't find anything on the net.
The Haynes manual is no help as usual. Haven't had this problem on my car so please do let us know how you go.
May be a case of contacting Renault to see what's the go.
Bob.

Problem occurred after changing wishbones. The clip on the hub(magnetic ring)has corroded and will need replacing on both sides. Sellers sell the cable but not the magnetic ring for the hub.

Hi guys new to the forum, bumped this thread as it very relevant to my problem.

I replaced my rear discs today and the abs sensor holder has perished, im thinking of gluing it, my question is how far does the abs sensor have to be from the abs ring on the disc. Do they have to be touching?

Thanks in adv

Is this what everyone is looking for ? The ring on the inside face of the hub where the abs sensor fits into ? I have a photo but can't find how to upload
