Headlight fault - caused by fusebox fault?

Hi all,

I'm new on here so please go easy on me!

I have a 2005/54 plate 1.6 Megane which has a headlight problem, the dipped and main beams on both headlights have stopped working, the dash still shows that that one or the other is switch on. All side lights and front/rear fogs work fine.

I'm hands on with all my cars and so far I have checked both dipped bulbs and both main bulbs are they work fine, checked power to each headlight and then no power, the earth to each headlamp is fine. I have traced the dipped and main wires from headlights back to one of the plugs on top of the fusebox and again there is no fed coming out of fusebox.
I have removed the fusebox (all fuse fine) and there was water sitting in the bottom plastic cover and also looks like water stains on the board.

So am I right in think the board/fusebox has a fault?
Can I swap this with a 2nd hand one?
Does it need coding to the car?

Thanks.

Haven't tried but I'm almost sure it'll need coded to the car. Have a look on the net, there are people offering repairs.

Hi, I've been searching the internet for hours trying to find details of anyone with the same sort of fault and anyone who repairs these and not found a thing.

Thanks.

Well I'm shocked at the lack of replys on here, I was told this is the place for anything Megane.

So does the fuse box need coding to the car or will a 2nd hand one just 'plug and play'?

Thanks,
