Problem starting in cold weather

Postby fattcslim » Sat Jan 16, 2016 9:59 am

Hi, I've got a megane ii 1.5l 2006 and for some reason it takes several tries to start it in cold weather. Not sure what later when the day has warmed a little it starts first time. The fuel used display on the dash also resets to 0 but the clock etc is fine. Any ideas as had a new battery about 5 month ago

sounds like heater plugs...

to crudely test remove wires to them one at a time and touch a feed from the battery in its place and you should see a spark confirming its fine

replace as necessary.

The display resetting indicates an electrical glitch. Check the battery terminals and the battery itself. There are many low quality batteries on the market.
