Engine mounts big problems serious help needed

Postby Darrellpope » Tue Sep 15, 2015 8:32 pm

This is actually my sone vehicle he as had it since April this year and today he rang me and said he heard a loud bang so he stopped and checked the car and found the engine mounts broke
He went out to see him and it's not actually the engine mount as that's all still in place what I can see is that the actual engine as cracked where the engine mount bolts on to so I have no idea what to do with this or if there is actually any thing that can be done ?

Engine still lol runs ok but obviously it's pretty close the the car body to drive it so just towed it back and got to decide what to do with it ? Can that part of the engine be repaired or is it a second hand engine job ?

I think it depends if the part is stressed ,it could be aluminium welded ,but I would think it's an engine out to assess , it's hard to tell from the photo, looking at the phot it looks as though it's sheared on a strengthening rib but there also looks to be a sheared part with a bolt hole

Ok been looking at second hand engines and they all want the engine code.
I have looked on the block and found this but they say that's not a code it should be something like f9q ?
