my megane 1.6 engine on my 2008 megane CC had a whine that increases in volume with engine speed.


The AA man said it could be the alternator as he said there was some noise from that. He also said to take of the aux belt and spin the rollers. Well there is one roller and it doesn't make a noise.

Do you think it needs a new Aux belt? Could it be that that's the noise or is it something else? I'm totally confused.

Don't worry replying, I sold the car this month. It was a pile of crap. Worst car I ever owned. Loads of sh1t went wrong with it and it just had to go.

What did you buy to replace it

Not a Renault. Or any other French car. LOL.
