Our megane 2 played us a little trick yesterday. We drove to the nearby town appx 45km away for som shopping. Stayed for about 30min. Drove again a few km to pick up someting at an other store. This time i left the engine running (appx 10min) with AC on for the rest och the family. After 500m the engine started to jump back and forth, like it was running on 2 cylindars! The engine died but i managed to get it going again, but the car war undriveble. We called for help an after 15-20 mins a friend was ready to toe us away. We tried to start the engine again and voilá, it starts normaly and we drove home again!
Some other facts:
all 4 coils are replaced, 3/2014 or newer (Valeo)
all spark plugs replaced 3/2014
TDC sensor replaced 11/2014
Throttle body cleaned 11/2014
new vvt-solenoid 5/2025
oil (5w-40 type RN0700) and genuine filter 5/2015
refilled AC system 6/2015
engine idle is, according to me, a bit low. drops to about 600rpm with engine warm.
Rattling noise at start for about 2 years, but that has disappeard after the new vvt-solenoid and new oil+filter.
140 000km on the clock
so, any ideas?
