megane 2004 heater/blower not working

Hi all, I'd be grateful for some help, my megane heater suddenly packed in, doesn't work on any speeds, today I replaced the resistor and the blower worked momentarily,working through the speeds was fine once I turned it off it wouldn't start again, however there was also a faint burning smell that quickly disappeared, so now I'm back to square one, any help would b greatly appreciated!

Update, today I uninstalled the new resistor to inspect for any damage, all is well so I re installed it tried the blower and all worked, having tried it a number of times it randomly stopped working again, I'm deeply puzzled now!

Hi Den73,

Did you check all the connectors to the blower and the resistor park for any deformations? I think these are know to melt (the connectors)?
