Keycard broken

Hi all
I'm after some advice please guys n gals
My keycard on my Megane is knackered completely but I have a keycard/Card Reader & infrared sensor from another megane II,
If I swap these all over will it all work or will the ecu not recognise the keycard,
Looking through some other help pages a lot of them say it will work but there was one person said it might not,
Any advice is appreciated,

youre going to swap the plastic cover or some electronics too ?

Yeah got to remove the plastics to fit the card reader and infra red receiver,
I do have a back up plan if it don't work, someone's told me to keep the old key and if what I'm doing don't work take the signal sender disk out of old key and solder into the new keycard.
I just think it's daylight robbery to charge £180 for a new keycard and then almost as much again to reprogramme it,
Especially when all the parts cost me less than £20 from a scrapyard lol

the card reader and the IR sensor doesnt need coding, so the other keycard you have will not work even if you change that parts too.

The way to go would be open only your keycard, the "new" keycard and swap the plastic cover on yours, thats it, problem solved.

Cool I will give that a try,
I think my keycard is knackered though because it looks like someone has tried to repair it before by soldering it and not a good repair either.
