Ok, so I love the look of Meganes but did not research them before buying one. Wish I had now.

When I viewed the car it started fine on two separate occasions

Got it home left it and hour. Took the misuses for a spin lovely no issues.

That was 24 hours ago. Have come to start it again and trying as it might it won't start. Try's to turn over reads oil level ok and then beeps and reads injecters fault and give up.

So what the hell!! How did the guy get it to not have the fault yesterday??

What are my options

Glow plugs look new. No air bubble in fuel line.
Tried pumping the fuel a couple of times.

Same result every time.

Ok so update

Still wouldn't start so mechanic came out

All 4 of the injecters are leak back and seemingly a lot!!
How could all four get this fault withing 24hrs

He has taken the fuel filter off and said there a small amount of fillings in there but not loads.

I am at a loss now and and down over 800 pounds

I have purchased some used injectors with guarantees and they are being fitted Monday

There is not enough information in your post to diagnose the fault. This can be an indicator of you being taken for a ride the second time.

You should have read the OBD codes.

Filings in the filter may indicate the fuel pump failure. When it fails, the whole fuel system becomes contaminated and has to be replaced.

Sorry for being vague as you can tell I'm not clued up on cars. I have had another mechanic look at it and confirm that at the very least the injectors are faulty.

I'm sorry I have no idea what obd codes are?

It will be a third mechanic that fits the injectors (which I have sourced myself) on Monday

OBD codes... Your car is equipped with a powerful on-board diagnostic system, known as OBD. It allows access to live sensor data and also records all sorts of possible faults. If you see "injection fault" on the dash, then an appropriate code is already waiting for you in OBD. They can also be generated without showing on the dash. Each code is described as a few pages of text in the factory workshop manual from Renault, and the manual is in the sticky thread with the word "manuals", above this one.

Yes, injectors can fail, but it is unlikely that all of them would fail at the same time. If they fail due to wear, then the car would be running worse and worse, but not cut off suddenly. This is why I am suspicious about your situation - no details and an expensive job... On the other hand, it is possible that you bought a damaged car. For example, it could have been filled with petrol, so the HP pump has failed on you, suddenly contaminating the whole fuel system. I don't know - in absence of details everything is possible, and there might be a reason for you not being informed.

The injectors which you bought, by the way, will need to be coded into the engine computer (ECU). This will require a special and rather expensive computer. If the original injectors failed due to metal shavings from the failing pump contaminating the system, the replacements will also fail soon. This issue needs to be investigated somehow.
