Sorry guys I need a bit of help.
My own fault really, I haven't started the car since Dec 23rd, went to start yesterday and it would not spark into life - but it was very cold. Eventually I drained the battery and said that I would jump start it today. I tried to jump start today and only succeeded in draining the battery.
Now when I get in the car nothing works apart from horn and radio, no lights no dashboard no blower and so on, I am going to take the battery off and charge overnight...
Would draining the battery so low cause a fuse to blow? Hence the total lack of response opening the doors - oh yes central locking or hazards will not work also
Any help would be appreciated - I need to get this up and running again before Monday.
Oh yes and my missus has just stormed out in a paddy as her new phone doesn't work and I am too busy with the car to help her speak to another Indian call centre - please help and make it a positive start to the New year

Re: Megane 1.5DCI - electrics dead
Hi again
I have had the battery off and charging overnight will try this a little later.
In the meantime I have connected the wife's battery to my + and - leads, nothing lights up as I open the door - but the radio does come on again.
Is there one main fuse that controls the entry lights dashboard and Start/Stop function?
Hopefully it is just a blown fuse or it will be going to Megane heaven, as it has other issues.
All because I forgot to turn it over each day
Any help would be greatly appreciated

there is a main fuse on the top of the battery, not sure if it feeds the entire besides some functions like the radio and a few more small things, its not a common fuse, but you can find t on the market

Cheers tomalamix
I borrowed a multimeter and checked it before replacing
It was that, I managed to find a replacement for 1.60GBP.
They are called MIDI fuses 30, 40, 50 amp - I had to go to a specialist auto electrics retailer though.
I have had to change battery though so not all that cheap damn this cold weather and rather old car
