BHP?

Postby stevie080459 » Wed Dec 10, 2014 7:24 pm

Hi new here so forgive me posting in the problem forum as I only have 1 problem and 2 questions (at the moment).
I have just bought a 55 plate 1.5 dci 5 door which has done 51000 miles and was wondering how you can tell what BHP it has, I will mostly be driving it around town and it seems to have plenty of get up and go. So far the computer is telling me I am getting 40 mpg but then I have not done 20 miles in it since I picked it up last Saturday.
Another question is the clutch is heavy, I do not know if this is because its a diesel as this is my first one my last car was a C3 Citroen 1.4 and the clutch was as light as a feather.
So far I am very pleased with the way the Megane drives and hope I have a reliable one.

Problem, Offside rear passenger window not working but have read the posts about the fixes and have got the garage to do the work tomorrow under warranty.

I believe there are a number of 1.5 diesels with different BHP's so you will need to provide the engine model.

As far as the clutch is concerned, the clutch on my 1.9dci is very heavy but, like you, this is my first diesel so that may be normal.

On a '55' plate most likely.....

86bhp if it has a 5 speed gearbox or

106bhp if has a 6 speed gearbox.

:)
Clio 1.5 dCi 88 Dynamique Tom Tom in Oyster Grey + Twingo GT in Pearl Black on a '58'.

Thanks for the replies. The car is a 5 speed box so it's an 86 BHP.
I had my rear passengers window fixed today well half of it, it looks like the door switch only works intermittently so will have to get a new one but had a new regulator fitted.
