Want ur advice

Postby tronky » Sun Mar 12, 2006 8:43 am

My car is a 1.6 sedan, I'm not pleased with it specially on high ways, it's not stable and shaky on high speeds.

I have 2 options now

1- to have a Yellow Koni kit installed costing around 6K EGP
2- Sell out the car and get an 2004 Octavia A4 or 2002 VW bora ( both are 1.6 as well ) costing around 7K or 8K EGP

The Megane price has been reduced 6% by the agent 2 months ago & as for the used cars they were reduced by around 26% of their orginal price.

advise needed plz

Changing car is completely an individual choice and not one that I'm going to comment on however, if the Koni fix that you suggest would resolve the problem that you have, and if you are otherwise happy with the car, then go for it. What is to say that one of the other cars won't have other problems which are equally annoying to you?

Hope this is of some use :D

thanks for your comment,

i know another is totally different but it's still an option to me.

I know both cars don't have the unstbility problem I'm concerned about in my Megane.

I also worried about noise problems as they drives me crazy

frankly speaking, there are some issues on my Megane that really bother me, such as

a small jump when the gearbox shifts from 1st to 2nd gear
a noticablly gear reverse when braking
a slight loss of control in turns on wet surfaces.

notice that my car has only 20000 KM on it.

nope

but the car has gone through the 20k maintenance last week & I suppose they did check such things.

by the way, i've replaced the brake pads on 14000 KM & went back on th 20K main. complaining about brake squeakes & relatively fast pad wear, & guess what. they told me that they have new pad brand that doesn't squeak at all & has a relatively longer life, I was really pleased with that
