No boost

Postby Nelixuk2003 » Thu Sep 18, 2014 7:54 pm

Hi All

I'm new to the forum so be gentle :)

I have some mechanics experience. I have just bought a renault megane II CC that had snapped a cam belt, having put it all back together I think I have got all the vacuum pipes mixed up as I don't appear to have any boost.

I have drawn a picture of how it is currently connected up and would appreciate some advise as to if it is correct or where I have gone wrong.

The picture can be found at the link below:

Kind regards

You need to say what engine the car has... Did you look in the factory manual in the sticky thread above this one?

Hi

Sorry I should have mentioned the engine type

It's a 1.9 SCi

I'll have a look for the manual too

Thanks

You may need to know the code of the engine, not a salesman's description. Yours is either F9Q-800 or F9Q-804. Then look in MR364MEGANE1.pdf - there will be diagrams, but not specific to the vacuum pipes. You'll find the pipes shown in a number of diagrams in different sections of the book, start with the headgasket replacement section - they are shown there. If your engine is F9Q-800, I can look how the pipes are connected in my car.

Check connection to the vacuum pump. There should be two pipes departing from the connector.
