strut top bearings
is it possible to over tighten these as im having to replace both within a year of renewing them

Any nut is possible to overtighten...
Do you mean to eliminate play in the worn bearings by further tightening them? - No, it won't work... unless it is not a bearing but the top nut on the strut which is loose.

no it is deffo the bearings I was just wondering if it was possible to damage them by over tightening the top bolt ?

No, it's not possible. It's also not a bolt, but rather a nut.
