Reseting service indicator

Postby eric » Sat Aug 16, 2014 8:54 am

Hi, my info screen keeps coming up with the service indicator and spanner symbol. I do the servicing myself and need to know how to reset this.

I have looked on net, youtube has some articles but they all seem to have an extra button in the dash between the speedo and rev dials somewhere which mine doesn't :D or am I just not looking in right place, ta!

Also, can someone tell me the difference between phase 1 and 2? Mines an 06 reg estate. Are there any sites with photos that show clearly the difference?

I maybe changing engine mounts and bushes etc soon so just want to make sure I order right parts that's all. Thanks

hy

i dont know the phase 1 or 2 but i know the service reset. its only one button on the speedo, press the button on the stalk until you see the message "service" or " make service" or whatever it appears there when the service is due. then, while that message is there, press and hold that button on the speedo, the new service mileage will start to blink. hold the button until stops blinking.

service reset done

cheers

Thanks for your post, however this is where I'm slipping up, as there is no button on the speedo in my car... I've looked on youtube for this and they all seem to have them... I've got nothing, not even a hole where the button would be :D

Could it maybe be reset like the other variables in the computer, average speed, miles etc by holding the stalk button down? I'll give it a go :x :?

Here's a Youtube video showing how to do it on the Phase II which doesn't have the small button in the speedo bezel.

Hope that solves it for you.

:)

You're car being an '06' plate is probably a phase II unless it was one of the last phase I. Phase II launch was Feb '06. Post a picture and we'll tell you what it is.

Hi

I just tried to resett same way on my Scenic 2007, it comes to service, shows 5000km, I keep holding it when it blinks for a short while, the blinking stops but the service and spanner is still there? Anywhere i should put in New service km or something?

It does not affect running. You have more urgent problems to sort out now, this one can wait.
