Problem with your Megane? Can't find an answer? Workshop manuals and technical notes are in here.

"What's that noise"? (May be normal..)

Postby JanJoh » Tue Apr 29, 2014 11:12 am

06 Megane II 1,6

A few moments after engine start I can hear five-or-so (they are very rapid, approx 2 sec for the entire sequence) very faint "thunks" from the front of the car. The sound is the same regardless if i am in gear or just stationary, steering deflection does not affect it. In short: It is always the same.

It does not sound like a "bad" thunk. As an analogy My old SAAB had a similar (but louder) sound when the powered antennae was extended or retracted since the motor just used a timer)

I am just trying to figure out what it may be? Front light levelers (does not seem to be connected to a visible shift in the dip of the lights though..)?

:hm Any hints?

oh, and i should mention: My girlfriend does not hear it. (As in it is to soft for her to audibly hear. I do not mean that it does not happen when she is driving)
