drivers door window

Postby johnny the fox » Sat Mar 22, 2014 12:15 pm

Hi, ive discovered the window regulator has gone in my drivers door, hence it wont go up or down. Its a common problem. I telephoned my local Renault service who have told me Renualt uk will pay 76% of the cost so ive got to provide the remaining 24%. Ive also got to pay £50 for a diagnostic. Im puzzled as to why i need the diagnostic if it is quite clear that is the problem! Is there any garage service out there who a members of this club who can just supply and fit a new regulator without the diagnostic using Renault uk in the same way so i only pay the 24%? regards Johnny.

Have a go yourself, it's not too tricky and it cost me £35.

Temic controllers for window regulators are about £25 on ebay, the job takes about half an hour.

hi mate, so I don't have to buy the genuine part then? I was looking on car part 4 less and right hand door window regulators are £65 and the near side £59. I will have a look, cheers Johnny.

Remove the controller, send it to the above chap. It will be returned within 48 hours, repaired and g'teed for a year and you will retain all the original functionality, for £30.

You can phone him if you have any problems removing or refitting the part and there are photos and links to videos to guide you through it.

I have no affiliation with him but he repaired mine and the service was first rate so I would recommend the service.

Hi,

My front passenger window stopped working. I used the same guy to repair my module. I had it back in 48 hours and it worked a treat. It cost me £30.

Regards

Tony

my 08 windows stopped and i removed the panel stripped out the wiring cleaned and wd40'd it, connected back up with the panel off and it worked. Put it back together and most of the time it works.
