Could you tell me if I have heated seats please, In the fuse box under the stearing wheel there is a picture of a headted seat, on the dash next to the dash dimmer knob there is a switch with a heated seat picture and under the front seats there are wires. When I flick the switch nothing happens but I dont think there is a fuse in the hole but I cant work out which hole it is, Im a bit thick when it comes to this sort of thing. Any help would be great as its driving me mad. I have a 2003 megane fidji convertible 1.6. thanks Steve

Sorry to burst your bubble lad. But you don't have heated seats.

The image on the fuse diagram is standard for every car, no matter what extras or lack of them the car has.

The wires you see are for the side air bag and the seat belt pretensioner. Both built into the seat.

If you had heated seat there would be two individual switches for both seats.

Put on a coat on the cold mornings!!

I do have another problem Paddy which hopfully you can advise me on. When I turn my heater on it will blow for a few minutes but then nothing other than a clicking sound, any ideas what it could be and how to fix it?. Although having no heat isnt a problem in its self its the fact that I cant de mist the windscreen and it is a little dangerous driving like that I am having to drive with all windows open to try and clear the windows enough to see out off. I know I should buy a manual but I can only find one for a scenic and thats not what I have have. Thanks. Steve

What has happened is one of the 'teeth' on the cog that changes the air from external intake to recalculating has broken off and has locked the 'falp' in an intermediate position that blows no air into the car.

This is a common problem and expensive to fix properly.

However the solution is...

If you open your bonnet and look at the grill just under the windscreen, to the RHS is where the heater matrix is located.

You need to pop the grill off and you will be presented with a connector. Disconnect this and wrap with insulating tape.

Then take a coat hang and push the flaps to the open position. ( You will know what this this is when cold air from outside is being fed through your air grill in the car).

The above locks the assembly toonly taking in air from the outside. Allowing both warm air and your windows to demist. ( One turning the heating nob)

Not a perfect solution as you will no longer be able to have the function of recirculating air. But will allow both warm / cold air and the windows to demist.

Much better than the £400 it will cost for a new unit and fitting.

If you are still unsure what to do.. I will look out some photos as a guide.
