I have had my car for about 13 months now its a 2.0 gt dci anyway when i got the car it had been serviced so about 5 months ago i purchased a fuel filter from renault

anyway as my car was going to get serviced by a local garage i asked if they would fit the new fuel filter no problem right

erm no guy phones me and says i have got the wrong filter my one does not have a hole in the bottom the new one does thinks its for a sensor or something

Now i bought this filter probably 5 + months ago i am guessing no chance of replacement from renault but i will try

is there something i can put in the hole to fill it or does it have to be the sensor ????

If they supplied you with a wrong filter then they should change it (assuming they worked off your car's registration number etc). But 5 month's is a long time so they may argue it, although if it hasn't been used and / or is a resellable condition, I would argue back.

Interestingly, although there are 2 types of filters listed, I've never come across anyone having the one with the water sensor fitted. If your engine (which is at the higher end) doesn't use one, then which one does? Makes me wonder...

Yes mate i did supply them with the reg and even looked at the filter but just thought that must be it

its my own fault i should not have bought it 5 moths ago just thought i would be ready for the service wont do that again :D

I will try and argue with them but i think i know whats going to happen i am going to have to buy a new one :D

I just wondered if there was anything i could pop into it so i could use it

But thanks for your advice mate
