Renault megane cruise control?

I have a 2007 Renault Megane dynamique and when I bought it from a main dealer i was told the car had cruise control (it was listed under features etc) however the steering wheel is the standard one with no buttons on it... Is it possible that for some reason my steering wheel was changed which is why there is no cruise control and therefore if I was to buy a steering wheel with the cruise control I would be able to use cruise control?
Or was it just false advertising?

There a few posts on how to retrofit cruise control. You need the airbag and switches and a dash switch. From what I've read, you hook it up and get the mechanics to tell the computer that cruise is now working.

There was an airbag and switches on here for sale the other day.
