Anyone sent their turbo for repair? I was thinking of Midland Turbos but if anyone has a better suggestion I'd be gateful for advice. Somewhere in South Wales would be great but I can't find anywhere..
I written before about the amount of oil geting into the intercooler. It has improved greatly since cleaning all the breather pipes, especially the oil return pipe from the filler bottle to the engine BUT I'm still topping up every 600 miles and oil is getting into the intercooler. Took it off yesterday and around 50ml of oil and greenish sludge came out and there is fresh oil the pipes leading to the intercooler. I've told they all do this a bit but mine seems excessive.
Although this recon turbo is only 15k/15months old I want to send it off for assessment and to have the seals replaced.
Cheers,
H

Sorry, not an answer to the Q but for what its worth in 4 years I've never had to top up the oil.
I would make sure fully synth oil is in a and a good air filter.
Make sure its breathing properly. Other than that I dunno
