Just got my lovely new(to me) tourer, noticed as I drove it home that the washers were empty. when I filled them up from a 1.5l bottle, the first 1.5 litres went in, then half way through the second bottle I started to here a sploooosh as my feet got wet as foamy water poured onto the ground. DO the bottle crack with age? or do the fill pipes become disconnected?

the filler neck was loose
